Unlimited Championship Race Video
Last race of the season… Young Gun Johnny Lewis (21) races for pride.

We capture some great action with KTM racer Ales Hlad and #1 Benny Carlson. Lewis increased his game in 2007 and came home a strong 5th in the championship.

Last Race of Season
Mitch Hansen, Team Owner of Team KTM HMC, enjoyed the last race of the season. Running out of the transporter and displaying the KTM colors included 8 racers from around the world. They included Troy Herfoss, Brian Capper, Kurt Nicoll, Johnny Lewis, Ales Hlad, Alex Hofmann, Steve Lamson and Matthew Winstanley.

Josh Bartink Wrenches on #21»

Podcast - Josh Bartink wrenches for the #21 racer of Johnny Lewis. On Saturday they took 3rd in the Supermoto Unlimited Race and on Sunday they had multiple engine problems. We caught up with Josh before the “fuel hit the combustion chamber.” After our interview the team replaced three mills and a chassis and still the race bike wasn’t performing well.

Matthew Winstanley Races 9 & 10»

Podcast - Guest Racer Matthew Winstanley rode hard on his KTM 450SX and took two 6th place finishes at Mayhem at the Morango during Round 9 and 10 of the AMA Supermoto Championship. He comes from England and got a taste of American-style Supermoto Racing. One area European riders have trouble is in the motorcross-style dirt sections. Matthew held up well and did a fabulous job. He talks about racing stateside. Champ Lamson Takes 21st & 12th»

Podcast - Two-time AMA Motocross Champion, Steve Lamson, serves as Team Manager for the MDK KTM Factory Racing Team and came out to experience AMA Supermoto. His first response, “these bikes sure stay clean!” This was his first introduction to the sport and he took 21st in Round 9 and 12th in Round 10. Lamson is a quick study.

Nicoll Takes 1st at the Last Race»

KTM HMC’s Kurt Nicoll got a measure of revenge in the final AMA PPG Supermoto Unlimited race of the season, bouncing back from his Saturday DNF to score his second win on the season.

The 2004 class champion shot into the lead on the opening lap aboard his KTM 560SMR and never looked back, opening up a six-second plus advantage in the eight-lap contest before backing down and cruising to the checkered flag on the final lap.

Round 10 - Nicoll Finishes in Style»

Kurt Nicoll races like a youngster and trains like a demon… the results? He has been on the box in every race he has run in 2007 except when his engine blew due to bad gas. He won the last race of the season by running away and hiding from the competition.

Round 10 - Capper Takes Podium»

Podcast - If you check Brian Capper closely you’ll notice puncture wounds up and down his arm. He’s been snake bit the entire season. But his dreams came true at the last round of the last race. He qualified well and took it home for a podium finish.
