Qualifications
An impressive fifth in qualifying went to the KTM HMC KTM Super Duke 990 R of Goulburn, Australia’s Troy Herfoss and Detroit racer Chris Fillmore, which set a time of 2:30.220. The team is making its SunTrust MOTO-ST Series debut this weekend at Road America. They were just 3 seconds off the pole winner of Buell 1125R-mounted Shawn Higbee.

These guys are a lot of fun to work with. They are fast and really make the DUKE rumble. I am looking forward to an outstanding season.

Race Results
The No. 10 HMC KTM 990 Super Duke R ridden by Fillmore and Herfoss led four laps in its SunTrust MOTO-ST Series debut but crashed out near half distance.

XTRM/AMA Supermoto Series: Round 1, Monroe, Washington

It was a long off-season and Team KTM/HMC was armed and ready to take on the 2008 XTRM/AMA Supermoto Series heading into round one. After three years away from the team, Chris Fillmore is back on a KTM alongside HMC’s Troy Herfoss and Kurt Nicoll. Together, this trio oozes talent. The team is armed with a stable of KTM machinery to get the job done. Herfoss and Fillmore are gunning for the title in the 450/Supermoto class aboard KTM 450 SXs and Nicoll is riding the mighty KTM 505 in the Unlimited class.

Racing Recap In a wet opening round in Monroe, Washington, Graves Yamaha riders Mark Burkhart and Brandon Currie got off to a good start in defending their number one plates. Burhkart took top honors in the Supermoto premier class while Brandon Currie dominated the Lites class. In the Unlimited division, Hart & Huntington’s Steve Drew took the win.

Supermoto Heros Return 4 2008»

The first round of the six round Supermoto Series will set the stage for the ESPN Summer X Games, as non-seeded Supermoto riders will have the opportunity to qualify for their chance at winning an X Games medal, August 1-2.

2008 defending champions Mark Burkhart (450 Premier Class), Ben Carlson (Unlimited Class) and Brandon Currie (250 Lites Class) will have their hands full, as riders like Troy Herfoss (KTM) David Pingree, Cassidy Anderson, Carey Hart, Chris Fillmore (KTM) and Kurt Nicoll look to play the spoiler once the 2008 season gets underway.

2008 AMA XTRM Supermoto Championship Kicks Off With ‘The Battle Of Seattle’ Saturday July 5th!

Night-time race at Evergreen Raceway includes X Games qualifier - The 2008 AMA XTRM Supermoto Championship kicks off in Seattle, Washington on Saturday night July 5, at Evergreen Speedway. This opening round doubles as aqualifier for non-seeded Supermoto riders at the ESPN Summer X Games in Los Angeles onAugust 1-2.

The new AMA XTRM Supermoto Championship, presented by Parts Unlimited, will featurefactory teams from Yamaha, Honda, Aprilla, KTM, and Husqvarna and a host of new independent teams and stars competing in the Premier 450cc, the Unlimited and 250cc Lites class that take on a variety of asphalt/dirt courses from Seattle to the urban streets in Austin, Texas in October.The six-round Supermoto Series has three championships up for grabs, with all three defending champions starting on equal points, Yamaha’s Mark Burkhart (450), Brandon Currie (250cc Lites)and Aprilla’s Benny Carlson (Unlimited). Also with six hours of Speed HD-TV broadcasting andXTRM’s new website, http://XTRM.com.

Dunlop/Graves custom FZ1 to be auctioned for Doug Henry benefit»

Dunlop_Graves_FZ1.jpgWorking together, Dunlop Tire Company and Graves Motorsports have created an amazing one-off custom 2008 Yamaha FZ1 to be auctioned off after the Summer X Games for the benefit of former Yamaha Factory Rider Doug Henry.

This project has been a labor of love for both Dunlop and Graves who sponsored Doug while he was racing for the Grave Motorsports/Yamaha SuperMoto team.

More details about the auction will be posted on the Road 2 Recovery website and the Dunlop website soon.
