Podcast - Robin Hartfiel Talks Supermoto with Marche Karger
Motorcycle Product News veteran, Robin Hartfiel, talks with Karger about the Stateline Supermoto Challenge at Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino in Primm, Nevada, just a couple of hours from L.A. and less than an hour from Las Vegas. TEAM KTM HMC is using it as a tune up for the 2008 SuperMoto season.
Over 400 amateur and pro racers are expected to converge at the Stateline Supermoto Challenge to compete in Supermoto, Quad, UTV (Side X Side) racing.
There will be 25 classes including pro, amateur and youth that will race throughout this three day event. Supermoto pro racers will be competing for the $2,500 purse in Open Pro Class and quad racers will be compete in the 450cc Quad Pro category for a $2,000 purse as well as a 50% payback in the Unlimited Quad Pro/Am class.
The Stateline Supermoto Challenge will have plenty of entertainment outside of racing to keep the energy up and excitement high. The Jagermeister Music mobile concert stage will once again be on hand and will be kicking the weekend off with a Guitar Hero contest on Friday night. Saturday afternoon, the So-Cal all girl rock band Beauty In Stereo hits the Jagermeister stage. After the racing action is finished on Saturday, the ultra fun rock n’ roll karaoke band, Cover Me Badd will be rocking out with singers from the audience jumping up on stage to showcase their vocal talents.
The Stateline Supermoto Challenge is as much about having fun and a good time as it is about the racing action. The action-packed weekend has something for everyone whether you are a racer, spectator, kid or parent.
- Marche Karger, Event Organizer and supermoto racer
One of the biggest thrills of the three day event is the team races that include two racers and two bikes per team. During the race up to 35 teams per class compete and change riders every ten minutes by rolling down the NASCAR-style pit lane and touching their front wheel to their teammate’s rear wheel. After the touch is made the competitor roars off into battle for another session of heated competition.
Since the Stateline Supermoto Challenge happens a week before the AMA Supermoto kickoff at the ESPN Moto X World Championships in San Diego, racers like Burkhart, Currie, Fillmore, Dymond, Carlson, Nicoll, Atkins, Drew, Trachy, and Herfoss will be tuning up for the start of their season.
