Product Test: SHIFT Strike Gear
From: AMA Supermoto

Just as in the upper end Faction pant, the SHIFT Strike pant utilizes and simple articulated waist and ratchet enclosure that operates easily and very efficiently. But even before you get them on, you realize how lightweight they are – much of the lightness is no doubt due to the low profile, yet prominent, TPR logos.
The light weight of the Strike pant is definitely one of the major strengths it offers, but it doesn’t end there. The fit is super: comfortable and easily conforming. An added feature that SHIFT added to the pant is the leather inner knee on the right side; this may be the only mid-line pant that I have seen that has leather – a very nice attribute! If you could change one thing it may be to eliminate the ankle cuffs; however I can add that this is just personal preference; when I was riding in the gear, I never noticed them. With the combination of function, appearance, and pricing at $99.00, the SHIFT Strike is excellent. In fact, I have already noticed many of the top pros; like the MDK KTM Team wearing them.

Comfort and lightweight continue on with the Strike glove, with a lightly padded Rima palm and thumb. On top, the two-way stretch panel is flexible, with pre-curved fingers offering a great grip. Silicone fingertips provide the increased lever control. Overall, the SHIFT Strike glove is comfortable and at $19.95, affordable. It may not have a lot of “bells and whistles,” but it is very functional.

Beginning with the top of the SHIFT Strike jersey, the collar with 2 piece Lycra material is simply awesome: it feels nice and soft; probably one of the nicest collars that I have worn. The back material is comprised of a vented mesh material, along with the underarms creating a pretty breathable jersey. The wrist cuffs are also very “low profile” and comfortable. Overall, like with the SHIFT Strike pants, the jersey is an excellent combination of function and appearance – and nicely priced at $39.95.
Overall, I was extremely happy with the SHIFT Strike product. It has the crucial ingredients of function (including being very lightweight), looks and pricing. In conclusion, this is good stuff!
