SPEED RECAPS KTM SUPERMOTO IN DETROIT

NICOLL SCORES THIRD CONSECUTIVE PODIUM FINISH

KTM added to their AMA Supermoto trophy collection on Sunday when the series stopped at Waterford Hills Road Course in Clarkston, MI for Round 4 of the 2007 championship. Team KTM HMC’s Kurt Nicoll continued his early-season roll, claiming a third consecutive podium finish in the Supermoto Unlimited class. Nicoll, who entered the weekend with a pair of second-place finishes to his name after missing the season opener, featured near the front once again, guiding his KTM 560SMR to a stellar third-place result. Unlimited Supermoto Race Recap at Detroit Supermoto»

The Orange Men of Kurt Nicoll, Brian Capper and Johnny Lewis took 3rd, 4th and 21st respectively. Nicoll and Capper ran smooth and fast from the start of practice till the checkered flag. Lewis had a chance for a podium until a mishap had him tumbling in the whoops. Continued»

Brian Capper Races Hard for 4th»

The training, sweat and effort took the South African racer, Brian Capper, to 4th in the AMA Supermoto Unlimited Championship race at the Waterford Hills Road Course just outside Detroit, MI. Brian looked very racy on his #13 Unlimited racebike. He talks about his day, the track and his summer break.

Kurt Nicoll Takes Another Podium at the AMA Supermoto Race in Detroit»

Kurt Nicoll got in late on Saturday night and with just a few hours sleep he headed out to the Detroit Supermoto (www.detroitsupermoto.com) at Waterford Hills Road Course and won his heat race. At the start of the AMA Supermoto Unlimited race he got pinched in by a Husqvarna and an Aprillia. After he was able to neutralize the Husky the Aprilia’s were gone and he took a solid 3rd. Nicoll talks racing and situational awareness.

Mitch Hansen Talks AMA Supermoto Championhip Race in Detroit, MI»

Team Owner Mitch Hansen talks about the bikes, riders and potential. The team took a podium on the day with Kurt Nicoll standing on the box at the AMA Supermoto Championship race in Detroit. Hansen looks forward to the next round in CT. Hansen mentioned after the race that he will be running at the MOTO ST race in Daytona later in the year. Watch this space for more details.
