Round 7 - Carlson Takes 2nd
The doubleheader weekend for B.Carlson was a solid effort. On Friday he jumped the start and came in for a stop and go penalty. He clawed his way back to the front and took his KTM 610 racer to 4th place.
On Saturday he moved to the point and won pole position. In the wet and sloppy conditions he hit the tarmac a couple of times but still crossed the stripe in 2nd.
I’ve never ridden in conditions like this. Whenever we’ve ridden in the rain at Road America there was no dirt. It was tough but it was fun. Everybody has the same track. When I crashed I just instantly pulled in the clutch and held the thing wide open because I didn’t want it to die. I spun it around and kept it going fortunately.
- Benny Carlson
Carlson stepped away from Denver, CO 2nd in the points and within striking distance of the Championship.
